The type of personal information we collect

We currently collect and process the following information:

How we get the personal information and why we have it

Most of the personal information we process is provided to us directly by you for one of the following reasons:

  • Because you contacted us via email or telephone about a product or service.
  • Because you consented to enable website analytics.

We use the information that you have given us in order to discuss, quote and deliver our products and services to you and understand our website audience. We may share your website usage data with Google through their Google Analytics program, but we do not share your personal identifiers, contacts, or characteristics data.

Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the lawful bases we rely on for processing this information are:

  1. Contractual obligation – When we discuss, quote, or deliver services to you we need to collect your personal identifiers, contacts, and characteristics. We use the contractual obligation lawful bases for this.
  2. Your consent – When we analyse your website usage data, we rely on the consent lawful bases. You are able to remove your consent at any time. You can do this by contacting privacy@alex-wheeler.consulting.

How we store your personal information

Your information is securely stored.

We keep your Personal identifiers, contacts and characteristics for the duration of our business relationship. We will then dispose of your information by removing your details from our databases.

We keep your individual website usage data for 2 months after your last visit to our website within the Google Analytics system. If you visit our website again before this period has expired the timer will be reset. After this period has expired your usage data is removed from the system.

At any time, you can withdraw your consent to website usage data being collected by changing the cookie permissions using the “cookies” link in the footer of all website pages.

You can also request deletion of existing website usage data by making a request to privacy@alex-wheeler.consulting and quoting the relevant Google Analytics IDs which you would like deleted. You can find these IDs in your browser’s cookie explorer under this website’s URL in the cookies starting with “_ga”.

Your data protection rights

Under data protection law, you have rights including:

  • Your right of access - You have the right to ask us for copies of your personal information.
  • Your right to rectification - You have the right to ask us to rectify personal information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete.

  • Your right to object to processing - You have the right to object to the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.
  • Your right to data portability - You have the right to ask that we transfer the personal information you gave us to another organisation, or to you, in certain circumstances.
